The leadership of the Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has paid a condolence visit to the family of former Deputy Governor of Delta State, Chief Sir Benjamin Elue, describing his passing as a significant loss to the state and the nation.
The delegation, led by the Delta State APC Chairman, Chief Solomon Arenyeka, visited the residence of the late statesman where they were received by members of the Elue family, political associates, friends, and sympathizers who had gathered to mourn the revered leader.
Speaking during the visit, Chief Arenyeka conveyed the heartfelt condolences of the party’s State Executive Committee to the bereaved family, noting that the death of the former deputy governor was not only a loss to the family but also to the entire state and Nigeria’s political community.
He described the late Elue as a distinguished leader and seasoned administrator whose contributions to governance and development in Delta State would continue to be remembered.
“The late Chief Sir Benjamin Elue was a distinguished leader, a seasoned administrator and a committed public servant whose contributions to governance and development in Delta State will never be forgotten,” Arenyeka said.
The APC chairman further noted that Elue’s legacy of service, humility, and dedication to the people remained an inspiration to both present and future leaders.
“He was widely respected across the political divide for his wisdom, calm disposition and commitment to the growth and unity of Delta State. His legacy will continue to inspire many,” he added.
Chief Arenyeka also prayed that God grants the family the strength and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss, while asking for the peaceful repose of the soul of the departed elder statesman.
Responding on behalf of the family, Hon. Azuka Elue expressed appreciation to the APC State Executive Committee for the visit, noting that the gesture of solidarity meant a great deal to the family during their time of grief.
“We sincerely appreciate Chief Arenyeka and the entire APC State Executive Committee for identifying with our family at this difficult time. Your presence and words of comfort are deeply appreciated,” he said.
Prayers were offered for the peaceful repose of the soul of the late Chief Sir Benjamin Elue, after which members of the delegation signed the condolence register.
The visit served as a moment of reflection on the life and legacy of the late former deputy governor whose service and leadership left a lasting imprint on Delta State.
Members of the delegation included the APC Deputy State Chairman, Elder Moses Iduh; Vice Chairman (Central), Chief Paulinus Akpeki; Vice Chairman (North), Engr. Dan Ossai; Vice Chairman (South), Chief Emmanuel Amgbaduba; and State Organising Secretary, Hon. Emmanuel Egbabor.
Also present to receive the delegation were the Chairman of Aniocha North Local Government Area, Hon. Emmanuel Chinye, and other party leaders in the area.
