Tragedy struck on Monday as ARISE Television news anchor, Somtochukwu Maduagwu, was killed during an armed robbery attack at her residence in Katampe, Abuja.
The incident, which occurred in the early hours of the day, has left colleagues, friends, and family members in deep shock.
In a statement issued by Hadiza Usman-Ajayi on behalf of ARISE News management, the station described the late broadcaster fondly known as “Sommie” as a cherished member of its team.
“Sommie was not only a cherished member of the ARISE News family but also a vibrant voice that engaged and connected with our viewers. Her voice is now silent, but her spirit, passion and legacy will endure as part of our collective memory,” the statement read.
