No fewer than 32 beneficiaries of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) scholarship scheme graduated with first-class honours in 2025 across various universities in Nigeria. In addition, 134 other sponsored students earned second-class upper division degrees in diverse and competitive disciplines.

In a statement signed by Mr Igoniko Oduma, Special Assistant on Media to the Administrator, Presidential Amnesty Programme, and made available to journalists, the graduating students studied courses including law, pharmacy, aeronautical engineering, cybersecurity, electrical engineering, software engineering, nursing science, mechanical engineering, architecture, accounting and criminology.

Others are computer science, anatomy, international relations and diplomacy, geography and regional planning, microbiology, public health, information technology, medical laboratory science, estate management and mass communication.

PAP Administrator, Dr Dennis Brutu Otuaro, commended the scholarship beneficiaries for their outstanding academic performances, describing their achievements as impressive and encouraging. He expressed satisfaction with their exemplary conduct and dedication to their studies, noting that their academic success reflects the effectiveness of the programme’s educational initiatives.

Dr Otuaro said the excellent results recorded by the students form part of the success stories of the Presidential Amnesty Programme in promoting human capital development and sustaining peace in the Niger Delta.

According to him, the sterling performances validate the well-articulated educational objectives of the scholarship scheme and align with the mandate of the PAP under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He stated that the beneficiaries had justified the investment in their education and brought pride to the Federal Government, the PAP Office, their communities and the Niger Delta region at large. The PAP Administrator attributed the achievements to President Tinubu’s strong support for the programme and the effective supervisory role of the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu.

While congratulating the graduating students, Dr Otuaro urged current scholarship beneficiaries in various universities to emulate their predecessors by maintaining high academic standards. He expressed appreciation to President Tinubu and the Office of the National Security Adviser for their continued support, noting that the administration’s commitment to the Niger Delta remains evident through sustained developmental efforts in the region.
